The. mom domain can be used to create an e-mail address for the mothers or anyone else and it’ll look like Elisabeth@miller.mom. The user does not need to follow any special requirements to register on the Mom domain and the extension is open to everybody over the internet.

A study by Searchmetrics has suggested that websites with Berlin Domains often rank better in regional search queries entered in Google. The study states, „In 42% of search queries, .berlin domains have ranked better on a local level.“

Another study by Total websites in Houston also suggested that the results of the Searchmetrics study are practically transferable to all new top-level domains including the new Mom-Domains. Total websites also stated that Google considers the domain extensions of the new Top-level domains as an important criterion for the evaluation of a domain and mentions that, „It is clear that the new top-level domains improve the ranking in search engines.“

Apart from the Mom-domains, the users also have a chance to register with .dad and .family domains such as yourname.family or yourname.dad.
